When I was leaving my last job in a very big company to work on my own, a senior manager told me - "Don't leave the job, you have good "status" in society and earn well" . What he said about status was very true, people in most societies judge you by the "job" you have and how much they think you earn. I was surprised by how rude people were, when they though I was sitting unemployed at home.

On the other hand, when I informed my colleagues that I was leaving many of them were envious said "If it was possible, I would leave immediately, but I can't afford ". Most of them were married with a family to support and could not afford to take the risk, while I was single, with no obligations of any kind. Of course, they had a good status in society since they were well employed in a big company, earning well and had a family.

So many people always want to do something , but are unable to do so, because they are a slave to the system. When a child is small he or she is told that he should go to school regularly, get good grades and then get a "good" job. But an individual may not be really interested in a conventional "good" job, but may continue doing it for the sake of the money offered.
